JANESVILLE - Doris J. Elliott, 101, a resident of Evansville Manor, died there
Monday, Sept. 13, 2004. She was born at home in Ontario, WI, on June 3, 1903,
the daughter of Charles Jess and Anna (Brown) Bassett. She has been a
Janesville resident for over 70 years. Doris married John Elliott, a
preceded her death on Jan. 11, 1963. She was a member of Cargill United
Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Royal Neighbors of America. She
liked to fish, loved spending time with her family, and never missed a
function of her grandchildren. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren: Janet
(Jack) Raufman of Stoughton, Jack (Diane) Schroeder of Janesville and Anna
(Ray) Flohr of Darmel, IN; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren;
a daughter-in-law, Luretta Elliott of Stoughton; and a half sister, Ferroll
(Orville) Severson of LaCrosse. She was preceded in death by her parent
husband; 2 children, Lita Schroeder and Delford Elliott; 2 brothers, Hap and
George; and 4 sisters: Inez, Florence, Coral and Lilah. Funeral Services will
be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Cargill United Methodist
Church, with Rev. Robert Hays officiating. Interment will be in Richland
Center Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at
Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to
