  [S25] Frances Browne (Reliability: 2). Description: The IGI shows a Mary Bassett daughter of William Bassett and Mary. It is true that there is some ambiguity because there are two records of a christening of Mary Bassett, d of William and Mary - one on 4th August 1816 and one on 27th October 1816, both at St. Mary, Lewisham. I believe that this Mary Bassett is the person who married Thomas Alexander Webb on 2nd February 1835 at Bromley Kent. Mary Webb appears in the 1871 census as having been born in Lewisham, estimated birth year 1817, married to Thomas Webb with children who include my great grandmother, Matilda Webb. I have the birth certificate of Matilda which names Mary nee Bassett as her mother. [S9] International Genealogical Index (R) (Reliability: 2).
