Bassett died at his home Tuesday morning following a week?s illness. Mr. Bassett, who was 78 years old, was a native of Ann Arbor, Mich. and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1883 in the school of pharmacy. He moved to Wiggins in 1920. He is survived by two children, Ray E. Bassett, Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Glen Mapes, Buelah, Mich. Mrs. E.C. Bassett, 82, died at her home Wednesday, the day following the death of her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Bassett had celebrated their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary and in death ? as in life ? they were not separated. Mrs. Bassett was a native of Michigan, but had made her home here since 1920. Mrs. Bassett had been active in civic and social life in this community.
