      Mrs. Eliza Bassett

      The funeral of Mrs. Eliza (Gillespie) Bassett, who died Saturday at her home, 30 Clyde road, Watertown, will be held at 1:30 P.M. today at that address, the Rev. Richard H. Bennett, pastor of the Payson Park Congregational Church, Belmont, officiating. Mrs. Bassett will be buried in Forest Hills cemetery beside her husband, the late Charles Harrison Bassett.
      She was born in South Boston 88 years ago, daughter of John W. and Susan (Glover) Gillespie.
      After marriage in 1878 Mrs. Bassett lived for some years in Dorchester and in Brookline, and after the death of her husband, 17 years ago, lived for a time at 3 Rockland street, Roxbury. She had lived about five years in Watertown. Mr. Bassett was at one time a partner of the late Joseph Brown, druggist, at Bedford and Washington streets, subsequently buying the business, which he conducted many years in Arch street.
      Mrs. Bassett leaves a number of relatives, among them Miss Lillian Dodge, a second cousin, who lived with her and cared for her during a number of years of invalidism.
