  Notes	The Fayetteville Observer, North Carolina, Friday, March 21, 1997 Thomas S. Bass CHADBOURN -- Thomas S. Bass, 80, of Chadbourn died Wednesday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was transportation director for Columbus County school bus garage for 34 years. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by the Revs. Ricky Donaldson and Roger Gilbert. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Bass is survived by three sons, Ronald T. Bass of Tabor City, George P. Bass of Jacksonville, Fla., and Gary C. Bass of Whiteville; a daughter, D. Gisele Artz of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Lottie Wright of Lumberton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Worthington Funeral Home.
