Bassett, wealthy Seattle hotel man, today was awarded $125,000 of the estate?s assets together with the income earned by the balance of the half-million-dollar estate, it was disclosed when an out-of-court settlement was approved by Superior Judge Malcolm Douglas. The settlement also gives Mrs. Bassett ?watchdog? shares in the 11 hotel companies in which her husband held stock. The widow filed suit in Superior Court last month to set aside and assignment she agreed to shortly after her husband?s death in April, 1948. The assignment made the Peoples National Bank of Washington administrator of the entire estate. Under the agreement approved today, the bank holds the balance of the estate ? exclusive of income ? in trust for the Bassetts? children and grandchildren.
