Emile Joseph Bessette
DUNNELLON -- Emile Joseph Bessette, 70, retired operating engineer for Local 57, died Nov. 2, 1992, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Slatersville, R.I., Mr. Bessette came to Dunnellon from Slaterville five years ago. He was a past master of the Patrons of Husbandry Union Grange, Slaterville, and was an accomplished musician. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Slaterville.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche Bessette, Dunnellon; sons, David Bessette and Daniel Bessette, both of Rhode Island, and Carl Bessette, Woonsocket, R.I.; daughters, Sandra Bryson, Melbourne, Audrey Kuczer, Nasonville, R.I., Ann Goryl, Slaterville, Elizabeth Brides, Cumberland, R.I., Laura Malo, North Smithfield, R.I., Marie Balsom, Milford, Mass., Carol Bessette, Dunnellon, Jean Jackson and Karen Rainville, both of Oakland, R.I.; sisters, Ruth Monroe, Woonsocket, Emma McGee, North Smithfield, Louise Kimball, Esmond, R.I., and Clarisse Cadorett, Somerset, Mass.; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Emile J. Bessette
Emile J. Bessette, 70, of Dunnellon, a heavy-equipment operator for R.A. Bergesson & Sons, Woonsocket, for 38 years before retiring, died Monday at Monroe Regional Hospital, Ocala. He was the husband of Blanche (Baril) Bessette.
Born in North Smithfield, a son of the late Maria (Ferland) and Herman Bessette, he moved to Florida five years ago.
Mr. Bessette was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 57. He was a past master of the Union Grange, Slatersville.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, David E., Daniel C. Bessette, both of Slatersville, and Carl R. Bessette of Woonsocket; nine daughters, Sandra Bryson in Ohio, Audrey Kuczer, Jean Jackson, Karen Rainville, all of Burrillville, Ann Goryl of Slatersville, Elizabeth Brides of Cumberland, Laura Malo of North Smithfield, Marie Balcom of Millford, Mass., and Carol Bessette of Dunnellon; four sisters, Emma McGee of North Smithfield, Clarice Cadorette of Somerset, Mass., Louise Kimball of Smithfield, and Ruth Munroe of Woonsocket; 24 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the National Veterans Cemetery, Dunnellon. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Church Street, Slatersville.
