Bassett, aged 91, of Lakeland, FL passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1920 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Shell and Cora (Buchanan) Bassett. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a geological engineer. Mr. Bassett is survived by his wife Mabel M. (Simmons) Bassett of Lakeland and daughters Pam Bassett and Michelle Sprosty. Inurnment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery.
