She was a member of VFW Post 2224 Puyallup Valley Auxiliary and Charter member of the Buckley Ladies Auxiliary #1387. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bassett, in 1985, son Walter, brothers LeRoy and Robert. She is survived by daughter Louise (Clyde) McVay, Buckley; son Gerald (Laurie) Bassett, Shelton; sister Juanita Bagnall, Northville, MI; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 3 1999 at 1p.m. at the Eagles Hall in Buckley. Memorials may be made to Americ Heart Association or Buckley Firefighters Association. Arrangements by Weeks’ Whitmore Funeral Home.
