  Notes	Edgar was reared in the village of Bassett, and attended public schools there. After graduation from the College of Commerce at Racine, he formed a partnership with his brother George and opened a general store in Bassett in 1891. It was called Bassett Brothers. He was a clerk at the Baptist church of Silver Lake. He was treasurer of the Farmers Dairy Association of Bassett, and school district clerk.
