James E. Bass
James E. Bass, Sr., 64, of Joan Drive, Macon, GA, formerly of Plainville, died Wednesday, (Feb. 24, 1999) in Macon, GA. Husband of the late Lillian G. Miller Bass. Born in Erwin County, Ocilla, GA, on Nov. 11, 1934, he was the son of Rubie Garrison Davis and the late Cyrus L. Bass. He worked as a fitter at Diamond Shipyard in Savannah, GA in the early 60's, was a Union Ironworker for 32 years and was a member of the Ironworkers Local No. #424 of New Haven, retiring in 1998. Father of, James Bass, Jr., Francis, Douglas and Gary Bass, Sharon McCabe and Shirley Bass. Also survived by several half brothers and sisters living in Georgia; six grandchildren; and a great grandchild. Predeceased by a sister, Joycelyn Bass and his step father, Ozia Davis. Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, Saturday morning, 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Bolduc officiating. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. The visiting hours will be Friday, 5-8 p.m.
