Harold Miles Bassett
With profound sadness??, we announce the passing of Harold Bassett, who peacefully left this world on July 24, 2026, at 9:18 p.m.
Harold was born on October 30, 1935, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to William Bassett and Glada Page. He made Arizona his home in 1976, where he built a life defined by hard work, service, and dedication to his family and community.
Harold proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, he also served with the Sheriff's Posse, worked as a land surveyor, and later as a security officer with the Maricopa County Court. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and willingness to serve others.
Outside of work, Harold enjoyed drag racing in his younger years and looked forward to outings at the casino. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor, the stories he loved to share, and the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Bassett and Michelle Bassett; his grandchildren, Faith, Brandon, and Adam Bassett; his sister, Betty Osberg; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hansen's Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, Arizona. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
Harold's legacy of service, perseverance, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
