The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hicks Funeral home of Elberton. Mr. Bass, husband of the late Alice B. Bass, died Wednesday, July 14, 1993. Born in Lee County, Ga., he was the son of the late Johnny Purloe and Nellie Delouch Bass. A former resident of Elbert County, Ga., he retired as a farmer and was a member of Middleton United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Raymond Bass Sr., of Elberton; daughters, Nellie Bryant and Maggie Bridges, both of Elberton, Alice Ruth Conroy of Syracuse, N.Y., and Edna Todd of Belton; 28 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
