Robert Lee, Tax Collector
Robert Vivian Lee, Lee County tax collector from 1925 to 1941, died Tuesday. He was 84.
Lee, of 1410 Tredeger Drive, Fort Myers, was a graduate of Alva High School and Pierce College in Philadelphia, Pa.
His father, Henry A. Lee, was na early settler in Alva, moving there in 1903 and operating a generatl store and hotel.
Lee served four four-year terms as Lee County tax collector, after serving as deputy clerk of the circuit court until 1925. After he left the tax collector post, Lee then became active in real estate, development and insurance. He was developer of the Lee Apartments and the Arvelee APartmens in Fort Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Lee; one daughter ,Mrs. Edna Lynn of Tamps; one sister, Mrs. Frank Mill os Wayne, Pa.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

R. Vivian Lee
Mrs. R. Vivian Lee, 49, died at her home early yesterday after a long illness of cancer. The former Rossie Bass, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. S. C. Bass, she was a member of a pioneer family and a lifelong resident of Fort Myers. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Mrs. Carrie Bass of Fort Myers; a son, Robert M. Lee of Fort Myers; a daughter, Mrs. Brian C. Lynn of Tampa; three brothers, R. S. (Shep) Bass Sr. and A. D. Bass of Fort Myers and Irven Lockler of Bowling Green; a sister, Mrs. Ivo Harper of Orlando; and three grandchildren, Carlton and Douglas Lynn and Rossie Vivian Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Young-Harvey chapel with the Rev. J. Donelson Jones officiating. Services at the graveside in Fort Myers Cemetery will be conducted by the Eastern Star.
Active pallbearers will be T. Grimes Dennis Jr., Jack D. Hughes, James Moore, Carl Roberts, Doyle Chesire and Russell Wintle. Honorary pallbearers will be W. Glenn Gibson, Victor Simmers, John Henry Fears, Carl P. Heuck, Dr. C. Gordon Merrick and W. A. Sheppard.
