Obituary
Margaret A. Bassett
Mrs. Margaret A. Bassett, widow of the late William Judson Bassett, and mother of William J. Bassett, of Rye, died at her home, 138 West 91st Street, New York, Thursday night, following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Bassett was born in Babylon, L.I., sixty-five years ago and had lived in New York for the past thirty-eight years. The late Mr. Bassett served in the Civil War as a member of Company C, New Hampshire volunteers.
Surviving the deceased are two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Feeney, Mrs. John Coyle of New York; one brother, Edward Carey, of Brooklyn; one daughter and three sons, Florence M. and Elmer C. of New York, Edward W. of Pittsburgh and William J. Bassett of Rye, three grandchildren, Margaret W., William J., and John Edward Bassett, of Rye.
A requiem mass will be held at the Holy Name Church, 96th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, New York, on Monday morning.
