Section 1 - Welcome
This month's issue features several pictures sent in by Bassetts and their relatives.
Ancestry.com has released online census records for 1851 through 1901 for Canada. If you have a Bassett/Bessette that you need looked up, please let me know. I have already linked up two families (listed in Section #7) using these census records.
Family Tree DNA has extended their 37-marker DNA test special pricing of $119 through the end of July. Please contact me if you want more details.

Alfred Emanuel Bassett, son of Richard Emanuel and Caroline Matilda (Dowsing) Bassett, was born in 1873. He died 16 Aug 1952 in Maldon, Victoria, Australia. He married Adeline Louise Butcher. She was born in 1880 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia. Both are buried in the Muckleford Cemetery.

Family letter written in 1928
Francis and John Bassett, sons of Ebenezer, are thought to be twins. They married in NY and journeyed west with rest of the Bassett Company for Polo Ogle Co. Ill 1836; the time the Wamsley's came. These two brothers became tired of the journey and stopped at Batavia near Coldwater, Mich., where Francis d. 1837.
His ch. were small. Several years later a stone was put on his grave, the inscription reads d. Aug 24 1837, aged 44 yrs 3 mo and 24 da., making his birth May 1, 1793. Martin F. and Stephen Bassett former Polo men, were Francis sons.
