Mildred Chase Bassett

      Services for Mildred Chase Bassett, 89, formerly of West Silver Lake, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 59 Lake St., Perry. Mrs. Bassett died Sunday (Nov. 11, 1995) in Wyoming County Nursing Facility, Warsaw. Born in the Town of Portage, Livingston County, she was employed for many years at the former Royce, Wright/Rockwell Store in Perry. During World War II, she was a Red Cross volunteer, folding bandages and knitting. She had assisted her husband, Melvin I., in his photography business. He died in 1969. Mrs. Bassett was a member of Perry Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Bette Wardle of Massachusetts, and two grandchildren.
